Freedom!
That's the last word from Sir William Wallace before he was beheaded after a series of tortures. At least, that was what happened in the movie. I am not sure how much of the content in the movie was based on historical facts.
The controversial statue of Sir William Wallace
Anyway, the movie told of a Scottish knight, Sir William Wallace, who led commoners to fight against the English army. He won a series of battles, the most notable being the Battle of Stirling. Unfortunately, he was betrayed a few times by the Scottish nobles, which eventually led to his capture and execution.
Sounds familiar, isn't it? Kinda ironic that the movie was shown a few days after the shocking 'change of government' in the state of Perak.
What's the point of spending billions on election, only to be over-ruled by the decision made by one person, who was supposed to protect the rights of the rakyat?
But hey, this is a good movie in the making... just imagine.... our own version of Braveheart..... which tells the story of how some awakened commoners went out to fight and won the Battle of 308.... but betrayed by some 'hopping noblemen (and noblewoman)'.....
That, of course, is not the end of the story. Let's just hope that justice will prevail.
