No, this has nothing to do with Jane Austen, the book or the movie.
Looked up the word 'sensible' in the online dictionary and found many definitions such as:
- conforming with established standards or rules
- capable of or reflecting the capability for correct and valid reasoning
- consistent with or based on or using reason
- well grounded in logic or truth or having legal force
Every so often, we are subjected to the scrutiny of the society, its norms and what is considered logical.
In a way, these so-called established standards help to keep things in order... but there are times when they become obstacles for further development and growth.
I was at MPH the other day and I came across this book entitled "How to think like Einstein: Simple ways to break the rules and discover your hidden genius" by Scott Thorpe. Yes, according to the author, one simple key to breakthrough is rule-breaking. Of course, here it does not mean breaking the laws and involving yourself in crimes. Rather it describes how as we grow older (and supposedly wiser), we tend to analyse and think too much, conforming to norms.... and hinder us from further breakthrough...
Society norms or what our hearts want?
Outrageous dreams or sensibility?
Do we have the courage?
