The closest I ever got to a big celebrity would be a few years ago when I met LeeHom Wang during his promo tour in Ipoh Parade. Ok, I did not really meet him as in 'face to face' :p
I was in Ipoh to visit my cousin, but she's out.... to Ipoh Parade to meet LeeHom. My uncle offered to take us there. So there he was (LeeHom I mean), standing tall and handsome on the stage on the ground floor while I could only watch from the first floor :p ... I had wanted to go down there, but the escalator (it was not moving) was full of people!
Haven't had any chance to be in 'close proximity' to any celebrity since then (concerts don't count). Not even during my holiday in Hong Kong 2 years ago.
So when I heard news that Raymond Lam Fung (TVB actor/singer) would be in Malaysia, I was excited! Because one of the venues for his promo tour was Kampar TAR College.... I mean, KAMPAR! My hometown! Ok, so I was not in Kampar at that time. I did not get to meet him. But I was excited anyway. I mean, how often does Kampar get any visit by famous stars? Ok, so Michelle Yeoh was in Kampar a few years ago for a charity event... and a few big budget movies featured scenes filmed in Kampar :p
Actually, Raymond Lam was also in JB yesterday (Danga Mall and Danga Bay), but I did not go..... :p ..... kinda like his latest song though... it's the sub-theme song to Moonlight Resonance (a TVB drama Raymond was cast in), called 愛不疚 (Love With No Regret).... so I looked for the MV, which led me to the MV of another song of his called 愛在記憶中找你 (Looking For You In My Memories)....
Really like the story featured in the MV. It was really sad and touching. Someone commented that it was based on the movie Lake House (starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock). Haven't watched Lake House. After a search on the internet, and I found that Lake House itself was based on a Korean film called Il Mare.
And it reminds me of a Japanese love story I watched many years ago.
Love Letter

It's a beautiful story of love lost and rediscovered... a tragic beginning or ending depending on how you look at it... and a little mystery :p
If you like love story and haven't watched this one, go watch it. Just remember to get ready some tissue papers or hankerchief or your other-half's shoulder :p
If you're lazy to watch the movie, here's a short write-up I found on the internet.
But I would recommend watching the film yourself. Enjoy!

hmm... the lack of enthusiasm for celebrities might be the reason why I'm feeling so lethargic and old. :P
muah... hah... hah... hah... I love celebrities... I guess that makes me young huh? :P
Well, so did you watch Lake House in the end? Was it good?
Actually, since you watched so many teary movies, can you suggest to me some of the English movies that would make one cry non-stop until they dry up like a husk?
I'm on a holy mission to make someone cry (through touching movies lah) :P
I have watched Lake House! It's nice I think. :) Should watch it some day. And Bamboo! You're CHEATING!!! :P
try "ghost" it's an old romance movie ... but a good tear jerker.
for animal lover "quill" but this one's a japanese movie.
"the kite runner" for those moved by friendship.
"a walk to remember" the book first then the movie...
"Life is Beautiful" an italian movie. very emo.
"Schindler's List" should be a very strong movie but... never had the courage to watch it.
there you go bamboo.. btw, wat's the bet?
cy: I watched Ghost d... definitely not enough to melt the "ice mountain"... i think I'll try life is beautiful first... afterall, it is recommended by FRIENDS tv series... hmmm... I wonder if they sell them at my usual "source" :P.
cy: and oh, there's no bet lah... but maybe I can get a snapshot of the melting ice mountain... if I did, I will definitely post it share it with you all :P
No, I did not watch Lake House in the end. Sort of 'cheated' by reading the synopsis (including the ending) on the internet... :p ... but it's good...
Melting the ice mountain? Sounds like an Anita Mui song... Don't think my recommendation could help, cuz my dams are made of material with low strength :p
I'm in a league of my own :p
But I heard that 'One Litre of Tears' could make guys and girls alike cry non-stop. In fact, guys told me they only dare watch one episode a day (and only at night) else it would affect their emotions the whole day! But then, it's a Japanese drama series, based on a real story.
yin hoon: Yup, as the title says, you'll be crying a litre of tears... I'm also very emotional when it comes to sad movies... that's why I rarely watch them... I myself have lots of recommendations... but 'some banana' can understand english only which is why I'm having trouble finding it... but anyway, thanks for the suggestions! I'll just try googling "english movies that makes you cry" :P
So many people minat this Lam Fung ah? :P Maybe I should grow my hair like him then kakakakakaka!
I love emo dramas/movies, (sshhhh)any movie that touches you in any sense is a good movie. You know guys seldom cry, so only through movies I bleed my crocodile tears.. :P The rest of the time, I stay cool, a man of steel! (ceh!)
Schindler's List is a good movie, recommended watch, A Walk to Remember is a bit teenage movie like, slightly overdone but nevertheless.. okay to watch.
Now I am googling for this One Litre of Tears.. need some teary moments now...
So, Bong, have you watched One Litre of Tears? Did it manage to melt the man of steel? Lived you teary moments? :p
