I remember watching "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" in the cinema a few years ago. I kinda liked it too. But LOTR was still fresh in my mind then and thus, Narnia sort of paled in comparison.
So I never expected much from the second Narnia. But it was very very good. The action, the battle scenes, the scenic settings.....
It has an archer (remember Legolas in The Two Towers? :p) in the form of Susan Pevensie. It has a cute little heroine (Hobbits?) in the form of sweet little Lucy. And it has a handsome king/prince (think hairy Aragon :p) in the form of Prince Caspian.
But what sets it apart is how it tries to connect the modern world and the middle age... the time travel between the two realms... a taste of a different life....
*spoiler alert* for those who have not watched it....
It was really sad when they had to retreat in the first attack and left half of the Narnians (centaurs, fauns, minitaurs, etc.) trapped behind the gates and slaughtered to death.
And the duel between Peter and Miraz reminds me of the Gladiator (Russel Crowe's character died) and Troy (Eric Bana's character died).... :(
The final scene when the Pevensies were about to leave was touching too. I like the song played during that scene .... the melody, the lyrics, the scene... it's very touching...
I'll come back
When you call me
No need to say goodbye
How I wish Prince Caspian and Susan could be together :p

Erm... I think that you are one of the few rare adults who would consider this movie a good one :P. Nope, I don't detect any sparks from Caspian and Susan at all... and I still don't know why would Aslan want to wait for people to look for him to drive away the invaders... sort of like want people to beg him before helping them... arrogant lion!
Hahahaha..... arrogant indeed. That, I don't understand why myself. That's probably for being the king of all animals :p
So I take it you think the movie is childish? But all the killing and slashing look quite real and brutal to me! :p
To think of it, I never go to movies with my father. :D
I watched that at home with my father.
But he did bring us to the movies last time... when there was still a cinema in my hometown hahaha...
